clinic what to expect lower plenty osteopathy

What to expect?

If you are a new patient to our clinic you will be asked to fill in a patient information form that includes providing us with your contact details, an outline of the reason for your visit to the clinic and some basic health information.

Your consultation will then include your osteopath taking a thorough case history, including questions regarding the site, nature and mode of onset of your pain. You may be asked questions surrounding your general health and past medical history as this will assist our osteopaths to provide an accurate diagnosis and administer appropriate treatment. Once your case history has been completed, your osteopath will perform a physical examination, explain their diagnosis and provide treatment specific to your condition.
There may be times where your osteopath feels it is important for further evaluation such as diagnositic imaging (x-Ray, CT scan MRI, ultrasound) is required or further evaluation and/or treatment from another health professional is necessary and this will be explained to you. Commonly a home exercise program including stretching and strengthening is the recommended.
